An open-ear headphone leaves the ear canal unobstructed. Audio arrives from outside the canal, so ambient sound — traffic, voices, a bike overtaking — stays audible while you listen. That is the whole reason these frames exist.
Two ways of doing it are in this lineup. Bone conduction uses a vibrating transducer that sends sound through the cheekbone, which typically leaks less sound at the same volume; the M2 and M3 are bone-conduction models. Air conduction uses small drivers aimed at the ear from outside it; the Q1 is the air-conduction model, and at 18.2 g it is the lightest frame we make.
